II-1 = Lane L9, II-2 = Lane L5: By tracing the alleles from generation I through the pedigree and matching them with the gel lane patterns, individual II-1 corresponds to lane L9 and II-2 to lane L5. The parents must carry allele combinations consistent with both their own parents (generation I) and their offspring (generation III).
B. Indicate the number of individuals with their respective alleles for the progeny in generation III.
2 individuals with alleles 1,2; 2 individuals with alleles 2,5; 2 individuals with alleles 5,7; 1 individual with alleles 1,7: Analyzing the gel patterns of generation III individuals and cross-referencing with parental alleles (from II-1 and II-2), the 7 progeny segregate into four genotype classes based on which parental alleles they inherited.
